Opportunities for Growth

Where the growth was hiding

01

No Direct Sales Channel

Atlas Tickets was heavily dependent on third-party marketplaces - Ticketmaster, StubHub, and others - with minimal revenue flowing through their own website. Building a meaningful direct channel meant starting from near zero, with no consistent marketing strategy driving owned-site traffic or sales.

02

Email Was Underused and Unsegmented

Atlas Tickets had an existing email list on Constant Contact, but it was unsegmented, infrequently sent, and generating almost no revenue. There was no cohort logic, no behavioral targeting, and no connection between the email program and the events customers actually cared about.

03

Owned Channels Were Untapped

SMS hadn't been launched at all. Paid spend was inconsistent and not aimed at building a sustainable owned-media asset. The opportunity was to build a full lifecycle program from scratch that could generate direct revenue without constant dependence on paid sales ads.

What we did

Email Marketing

SMS

Paid Media

Building Atlas Tickets' direct channel required starting from the infrastructure up. We migrated their CRM to a more sophisticated ESP, cleaned and strategically segmented the email list by customer cohort - sports buyers, concert buyers, theatre buyers - and launched a new branded newsletter with a consistent weekly send cadence. Messaging was built cohort-specific, so a Padres fan received different content than a theatre subscriber, with offers and copy tailored to their event interest.

On the paid side, we kept spend lean and aimed it at list growth rather than direct sales - building the owned-media asset that would generate revenue at a 5:1 ratio rather than running constant direct-response promotions. SMS was launched from zero as an additional owned channel, adding immediacy to time-sensitive offers and event reminders that email alone couldn't deliver.

The owned-media flywheel we built - email, SMS, and targeted paid working together - produced a 660% increase in sitewide revenue year over year, from $4.5K to $34.2K, at a marketing efficiency ratio of 5.17x. Daily ticket sales doubled with no additional ad spend. And the email program that had been generating near-zero revenue now runs at a 44% open rate and under 1% bounce rate, down from 50%.

Outcomes

A direct sales engine they own

The result is a direct sales engine that Atlas Tickets now owns. Sitewide revenue grew 660% year over year, from $4.5K to $34.2K, in the first three months of the program - and consistent direct-response ad campaigns weren't even live yet. Every dollar put into marketing returned $5.17 in revenue. Daily ticket sales doubled without any increase in ad spend.

What made the difference wasn't a single campaign or a single channel. It was building the owned-media foundation - a segmented email program, an SMS list, and paid aimed at list growth rather than quick conversions - and letting those channels compound. Atlas Tickets went from marketplace-dependent to direct-channel-capable, and the infrastructure is built to keep growing.

“When we brought Coast Summit Growth on, we were leaning too hard on the wholesale channels and our own website was underperforming. They came in, cleaned up our email list, built smarter campaigns, and the results spoke for themselves. Our daily and weekly sales on AtlasTickets.com doubled, and we didn’t add a dollar to our ad budget to get there. Open rates climbed 44%, click rates doubled, and our bounce rate went from 50% to under 1%. After 37 years in this business, I’ve worked with plenty of marketing folks. CSG is the real deal.”
